Everybody loves Raymond

トロントに居た時に、毎日欠かさず見ていた米国のコメディ番組「Everybody Loves Raymond」。
帰国してから10年が経ち、英語力の低下がどうにも止まらない。
そこで初心に帰り、当時大好きだったテレビを見ようと探したのがこの番組。
日本のAmazonでは結構な値段がしていて、二の足を踏んでいた所、たまたま
Amazon UKであればリージョンコードが同じで、米国より安くDVDを買う事が出来る事が有る。
との書き込みを見て早速検索。
有ったぜっ！しかも価格は全9シリーズが揃って￡35,89送料込。って安くね？
約6,400円よ。DVD44枚入り全２１0話。
発注から10日で無事届きました。

主人公のレイモンドは、妻デブラと3人の子供の5人家族でニューヨークに住んでいる。
彼らの家の前には道路を隔てて、強烈な個性のレイモンドの両親と兄の3人も住んでいて
毎日レイモンドの家に来てはトラブルを起こす訳よ。
恐妻家のレイモンドは、嫁姑の間に挟まれ日々悪戦苦闘。
少々オーバーでは有るが、多くの問題が日常に有りそうな事で共感が持てる。
いわゆるドタバタコメディーでは無く、会話の”間”で有ったり人間関係だったりがとにかく
面白い。全話を見た訳では無いし会話の半分も理解出来ないけど腹を抱えて笑える
シーンがメチャクチャ有ります。
もし、米国コメディーをトライしてみたい方には、私はフレンズよりもこっちを断然
お勧めします！
まぁ、Youtubeでも結構公開されてますので興味のある人は是非見てみて！

When I was living in Toronto, every day, I was watching US comedy show “Everybody loves Raymond”.

From back to Japan, 10 years have been gone and I cannot stop losing my English skill day by day.

So I remember original intention and I’ve tried to find this TV show for watching which I love.

I've found this in Japanese Amazon but it was expensive so I was wavering to buy but unexpectedly, I’ve found a comment that we can buy same region codes DVD in Amazon UK and we have chance to buy the price cheaper than in USA.

Soon after, I started to seek it and I could find it!

You know it’s true! The price is GBP35.89 including postage for all 9 series.

It’s cheap, right?

It is about JPY6,400, 44 DVD and 210 stories!

After placing, it was arrived safely to my hand in 10 days.

Main person Raymond is living in New York with 3 kids and his wife Debra.

His parents and big brother who have strong personality are living across a street from his house and everyday they are coming to Ray’s house and make troubles.

Henpecked husband Raymond is always gotten into the trouble between his wife and Mom.

It is little bit over reaction but most of troubles that we also have possibility to have same kind of situation in our life so I can sympathy the stories.

This is not slapstick.

Human relations and their talking ways are so funny.

I haven’t watched all stories yet and I cannot understand over half what they are talking but there are so many scenes which I can laugh a lot.

If you want to try US comedy, I really recommend this rather than “Friends”.

らーめん Ramen

昼飯を食べに社食へ行くと家庭調理用御当地ラーメンを販売していて
全商品300円！Sale!と書いてある。
スーパーで売ってるラーメンだって3食大体200円前後。
4食入って御当地ラーメンで300円なら安いな～。と思い2箱購入。
そう￥600です。
中には20箱近く買ってる人もいて、おいおいそんなに買って食えるんか？
で、事務所に帰りネットで自分が買ったラーメンの価格を見てビックリ！
どちらも1箱￥1,050よ。
それが何故か￥300って安いわ～。価格チェック後もっと買おうかとも
思ったけど、いやいや我が家は夫婦2人きり週一で食べても1月かかるわっ！
と思い追加購入は止めときました。
年末あっちゃんから北海道ラーメン送ってもらって、今週からは米沢、金澤
ラーメンを堪能します！コレステロールが・・・・。

When I went to canteen, I found booth which is selling local famous restaurant ramen noodle for house cooking and the booth has sign “all packages are JPY300! Sale!”

You know even normal ramen noodle at super market, the price is about JPY200 for 3 people’s packages.

I thought these are cheap because all boxes are as many as 4 people’s packages and it is famous ramen restaurant’s noodle so I bought 2 boxes.

Yes, it is JPY600.

Lots of people were buying at there and one of them was buying about 20 boxes or more.

I worry about he could eat completely or not.

Then I’ve backed my desk at office and I was so surprised when I checked ramen price which I bought in internet.

Both of the list prices are JPY1,050 but I could buy them with JPY300.

I don’t know why it is so cheap but it’s good, right?

So I wanted to buy more but I changed my mind to give it up because my family is only wife so it takes as long as a month even we eat every week once.

End of last year, my friend Acchan sent me Hokkaido ramen noodles and I could enjoy them and also from this week, I can enjoy Yonezawa and Kanazawa ramen noodle!

I may have to care about cholesterol......

散髪 Hair Cut

正月以来まったく更新せずに1月も20日となりました。
いやぁ～、歳を取ると時が過ぎるのが早くなりますわ。

さてさて、本日ご紹介したいのは散髪屋さんです。
その名も「カットコムズ」！
磐田に引越してから、ずっとこちらにお世話になってますが
ナントっ！カットだけなら￥1,000よ！
ちなみに、昨日散髪して貰いました。
風呂上がりなのもあるけど、ソフトモヒカンって言ったのに
ちょっと切り過ぎだよね。全然モヒカンになってない・・・。
でも、￥1,000は安い!!!!
デフレ脱却せなイカンがっ！やっぱ安いのは有り難い・・です。

I haven’t updated long while from New Year day and date 20^th was coming.

You know, I'm getting age so I feel the time going faster and faster.

Anyway, this time what I want to introduce is barber shop.

The shop name is “Cut Coms”!

After moving Iwata city last year, I’m going this barber and the price is so cheap!

If I ask cut only, it is just JPY1,000!

And actually I had my hair cut yesterday.

Even though I ordered to cut soft Mohican, this is little bit too short because I took a picture after taking bath though.

But JPY1,000 is so cheap, right?

People said we have to emerge from deflation!

But you know cheap is very nice thing for all people…. 

2014 元旦 New Year's Day 2014

明けましておめでとう御座います。

今年もやって来ましたお正月。
本日から2014年がスタート！2014年が皆様にとって良い年になります様に。
で、気が付いたと思いますが、富士山に雪を降らしてみました。
これ凄くね？

嫁の活花 Wife's flower arrangement

今年も嫁が会社のアクティビティーで活花を作って来ました。
今年のは竹も入っていてお正月っぽいね。
ま、こんだけ色々刺せばそれなりに見れる様になるわな。

This year also my wife made flower arrangement by company activity.

This year’s arrangement has bamboo so it has New Year mood.

Anyway, if people use this amount of flowers, everybody can make it nice. 

ホームパーティー Home party

さて今年もあと僅か。年賀状は出しましたかね？
ワシは昨日朝投函しましたので元旦に届くはず？？？

昨日は、会社の仲間を我家に招いてホームパーティーをしましたぜ。
平日じゃん！ってそうです。平日なんです。
真ん中のメガネの太っちょの彼、現在北海道のグループ会社に出向中で
年に数回しか浜松に帰って来ません。
今回も名古屋に着いた足で来てもらいました。
こんなとぼけた顔してますが東京大学卒業。ってホントかね？

右の青い服の可愛い子ちゃんは、大阪大学院卒だってよ。
色々焼酎を出したんだけど、「焼酎飲むの初めてですぅ～。」って可愛いな。おぃ～（笑！
まぁ、そんな訳で高学歴のお友達ですが、学歴なんて関係ねーぜ！
俺が一番年上だ！

We only have few more days for New Year.

Have you sent New Year’s cards already?

I’ve sent them yesterday morning so they must be arrive to friends on 1^st Jan.

Yesterday, I invited colleagues and had home party.

It’s weekday! Yes, weekday.

Little fat guy in center wearing glasses is working at Yamaha group company in Hokkaido so he can come back to Hamamatsu only few times in year.

This time, also he directly came from Nagoya airport.

He looks nuts but actually he’s graduated Tokyo University.

I always doubt it.

The right side sweet lady wearing blue clothes is graduated Osaka postgraduate school.

I’ve served them some type of Shochu but she’s never drunk Shochu in her life so she said “this is first time to drink shochu”.

Oh~~ so sweet~~!

Anyway, they are very high an academic background friends but you know, I don’t care academic background!

I AM The Eldest!!!!

北海道ラーメン Hokkaido Ramen

オラが故郷北海道は海産物が有名なのは勿論ですが、ラーメンも超有名。
家庭でも有名店のラーメンが食べれる様に、色々な店がお持ち帰りパックを
販売してるのです。

そんな訳で地元のお友達 篤子さんが、色々なラーメン店のパックを送ってくれました。
天金、よし乃、山頭火は旭川の超有名店。
でも、今回あっちゃんのイチオシは札幌の一幻だそうです。
エビから出汁を抽出していて、店ではかなり美味かったらしく送ってくれました。
楽しみ～っ！

My home area Hokkaido is of cause famous for seafood but also famous for ramen.

Lots of famous ramen restaurants are selling their noodle and soup packages for people can cook at their houses.

So my friend Atsuko-san in Hokkaido sent me some ramen restaurant packages to me.

“Tenkin”, “Yoshino” and “Santoka” are very famous in my home town Asahikawa city.

But this time, Acchan’s NO1 recommendation is restaurant “Ichigen” in Sapporo city.

Their soup was extracted from shrimp and in the restaurant, the taste was fantastic so she sent me as gift.

It is really expect a lot!
